More than one way...
For those of you who are not on Flickr, we've just had our flat painted, after 2 years, we finally decided just to get someone it to do it for us, can I just tell you all, don't bother with the hassle of doing it yourself, it's much easier and much faster to get a professional it, and the quality is much better too.
Our flat was a hotch potch of paints, and previous owners had damaged walls and repaired them really badly, perhaps the worst part was our hall, someone had painstakingly stripped back all the wood in the hall (door frames, dado, skirting boards etc) but had not taken the time to seal it afterward, leaving the wood to absorb years of grime, it just looked tired and dirty all the time. In addition, under the dado had been painted a cack green. We took everything back to a standard white throughout - we can add colour back in later.
I've been posting photos of the progress on Flickr but had trouble with these panoramas from my phone camera. These are the images Flickr didn't like, and I have neither the time, nor patience to work out how to get around it.
My loungeroom/bedroom/spareroom
This is what happens when you have a 3 room apartment and the painter works on 2 rooms at once. Tino is away this weekend, so this is where I'm spending my time, slowly working through the mounds and putting things back where they come from. Our bedroom
I suppose if you've not visited us this will mean little, but this room was a mixture of mushroom pinks
The spare room
Again, if you've not seen it, the right hand wall (only) had a god-awful pale blue wallpaper (done badly) with small white flowers on it.
The hallway
You'll have to tilt your head sideways here, the file doesn't want to re-orient itself
The hall looks a lot wider and the ceiling a lot higher without the raw wood surrounds.
